Welcome to the Dawn of a New Century For most, the new century begins in 94 years, but for Celebrity Cruises, it began when we launched out "new" Century on May 30, 2006. All of you cruising with us are part of a very elite group. You are among the first guests to sail on the Century following completion of an extraordinary, $55-million makeover. This transformation took place in five weeks, while drydocked at Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, Italy. We hope that you will enjoy the beautiful features, and excellent amenities that now comprise our "new" century. Sweeter Suites and Staterooms A total of 314 new verandas were added - a first for an existing cruise ship. Concierge Class accommodations were expanded, for a total of 180 staterooms. 14 new Sky Suites were added, for a total of 75 suites with 24/7 butler service. New bedding was rolled out throughout the ship, including premium mattresses, 100% Egyptian cotton linens, Euro pillows, bed throws and pillow shams. Samsung flat-screen TVs and wireless internet access have been installed in every stateroom and suite. All bathrooms have been renewed, with enhanced lighting, surface-mounted sinks, and new chrome fixtures. New Culinary Options & Clubs Century's new "Murano" specialty restaurant in the center of the ship sparkles with magnificent chandeliers handcrafted of Murano glass, named for the island of Murano near Venice, Italy, where glass-blowing has been a fine art and tradition since the 13th century. The elegant, intimate 66-seat venue features a signature menu and the extraordinary tableside service that receives rave reviews on Celebrity's Millennium-class ships. The new Martini "Ice" bar promises an invitingly "chilly" reception, featuring a bar counter that freezes into ice-cold stone, a liquidwall behind the bar that freezes to create a crystalline appearance, and kinetic lighting that regularly alters the appearance and color of the room. Cova Cafe Milano, the seagoing version of the stylish coffeehouse in the fashion district of Milan, Italy, presents specialty coffees and teas with pastries by day, and transforms to a sophisticated, lamplight wine bar by night. The new Casual Dining Boulevard includes Celebrity's first space expressly designed as a Sushi Cafe; a new ice cream parlor; renewed buffet area; made-to-order omelette, pasta and pizza stations; and a new outdoor Sunset Bar. Abundant Enrichment & Entertainment Celebrity's "High Seas Computing" now has a permanent home onboard Century, with computer training courses. An art gallery joins a new array of trendy boutiques in "The Boulevard," allowing art aficionados to purchase one-of-a-kind works, and avid shoppers to purchase designer beauty products and fashions, leather goods, premium gifts, rare gems and designer accessories, including watches and sunglasses. And believe it or not, that's only a partial summary! Every space onboard this fabulous ship that isn't entirely new was "re-newed," from the dramatic Grand Restaurant to the spacious Celebrity Theatre, from the casino to the card room, from the Hemisphere Lounge to the pool deck...each with painstaking attention to detail, and all inspired by the vacation desires of valued guests like yourself.
